Here's to a New Year: 2015!
While it's not January 1st...it's a start!
My goal for A Hat from Howard: A Chapter of Crochet for Cancer is to be able to donate a minimum of 200 hats to chemotherapy patients this year. Not only do I want to be able to donate to cancer centers in Kansas, I want to be able to make private donations to individuals.
To achieve this goal I will need help! If you knit, crochet or sew, please consider making at least 1 hat to send to us. We ask that the hats are handmade, soft and comfortable for someone who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment. I know that a wool hat can be tempting to make as it is warm and it can get cold in Kansas...but wool can be scratchy. We suggest that you test out your yarn by rubbing it against your wrist or under your chin. If it feel scratchy, consider using a different yarn.
We need all shapes and sizes to be donated: infant, child, teen, women and men sizes and styles. A wide variety would be appreciated. Here are a few that I made last year:
If you would like hats donated, let me know and we'll get some sent to you right away :)
Feel free to contact me with any questions. I am more than happy to help!
